Taking Joy in the Today… In the Now

About two years ago, I lost two relatives. A cousin and my dear dear umau (grandfather) and that was when my bro and I had this realization, death comes like a thief. We don’t expect it neither are we ever prepared for it. This year, I lost two of my primary school mates and it caught me by surprise. All that remains with us is fond memories of the time they were here on earth.
~May their Souls Continue to Rest in Eternal Peace.

Allow me to share my devotion,

“So go ahead. Eat your food with joy and drink your wine with a happy heart, for God Approves of this.” (NLT)
-Ecclesiastes 9:7
A good optimist can find happiness in any situation life brings to them. One important characteristic is finding joy/happiness in the now. Often we put off recognizing happiness until we get the next promotion, take that dreams vacation, or we expect our life circumstances must reach a certain level before er can recognize happiness. God made today for a reason, so take joy in today.
Hey, don’t get me wrong, I believe and the bible does say there is a time and season for everything…
Ecclesiastes 3:4 “a time to weep and a time to laugh;
                          a time to mourn and a time to dance”
What I am trying to say is, because we graciously have the gift of life, lets us enjoy every moment. Life is too short for being sad and depressed for a long period of time… talk to someone, go out for that dinner, be kind, love, laugh, write, sing, act, dance, colour, explore, cook that meal, apologise, respect, forgive, pick up a new skill, hug/kiss your loved ones often, listen to your heart, text/call/face chat your peeps on a regular, use emojis [just like I like to 🙂 ], take that road trip, go that extra mile, do not be afraid,  go for that concert, ask those questions, speak your mind, be yourself with no apologies, chase what ever makes your heart smile, give to the poor and the list goes on…. and on… image Have a lovely time in the world flowers 🙂
